1. Acceptance of Terms
Will It Trip the Breaker? ("the Service") is a free, browser-based RV electrical load and generator sizing estimator published by S'more's Outdoors ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
The Service helps you estimate whether a combination of RV appliances will fit within a power source's budget — a 15A or 20A household outlet, a 30A or 50A campground pedestal, or a portable generator whose rated and peak watts you supply. It totals typical running watts, checks a worst-case starting (inrush) surge for compressor and motor loads, models the effect of soft-start devices, and applies an approximate altitude derating for engine generators.
The Service requires no account, no signup, and no payment. All calculations happen in your browser.
3. Estimates Only — No Warranty of Accuracy
Every number the Service produces — whether from our built-in wattage presets or from values you enter yourself — is an estimate. The presets are typical values for common RV appliances; actual nameplate ratings vary by manufacturer, model, and year, and real-world draw varies with supply voltage, temperature, and equipment condition. You are solely responsible for verifying your own appliances' nameplate ratings, your rig's actual electrical capacity, and your generator's manufacturer specifications before acting on any output of this Service. The Service is never a reason to bypass, defeat, or "upsize" a circuit breaker or fuse.
See the Disclaimer for the full electrical safety disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) misuse the Service to submit malicious code or attempt to disrupt it; (b) scrape or bulk-extract the Service's content for redistribution as a competing product without permission; or (c) misrepresent Service output as a certified electrical inspection, an engineered load calculation, or a professionally verified measurement.
5. Third-Party Links, Advertising & Affiliate Links
The Service may display advertising (including Google AdSense) and affiliate links (including Amazon Associates links) to third-party products such as soft-start kits, surge protectors / EMS units, watt meters, and adapters. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through those links, at no additional cost to you. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the availability, pricing, or content of third-party sites you reach through these links.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service's design, code, and the "Will It Trip the Breaker?" and "S'more's Outdoors" names are owned by S'more's Outdoors. 7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ANY WATTAGE PRESET, SURGE ESTIMATE, DERATING FIGURE, OR CALCULATION WILL BE ACCURATE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC APPLIANCES, RIG, OR GENERATOR.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, S'MORE'S OUTDOORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROPERTY OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE, INCLUDING FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK, EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, OR HARM CAUSED BY AN OVERLOADED CIRCUIT, A TRIPPED OR BYPASSED BREAKER, AN OVERLOADED GENERATOR, OR LOW-VOLTAGE CONDITIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED $0, AS THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.
9. Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Material changes will update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
